2011 Relay for Life

In recent news, the Relay For Life event that took place at Freedom High School’s football field was a HUGE success!

The event started Saturday the 30th at 9:00 am and went for 24hrs straight. The NLM team of 15 members raised over $3,200 for the American Cancer Society!
Overall more than $114,000 was raised through the event. We were proud to be a part of an organization with such a great cause.

We have spent countless hours praying for and loving on families who are affected by this horrible disease and we felt that we should get involved in a practical way as well.
James 1:22 Says “But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves”.

We are here to, as Jesus Himself said, Love the Lord our God with all our heart, with all our soul, with all our mind, and with all our strength.’ This is the first commandment.
As we love people, our love should consist of praying for those in need, and then DOING what we can to show them that we mean what we say.

We believe James 2:14-17 which says “What good is it, my brothers and sisters, if someone claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save them? Suppose a brother or a sister is without clothes and daily food. If one of you says to them, “Go in peace; keep warm and well fed,” but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it? In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead. What a pleasure to Spread the message of the gospel through word and deed!

Thank you to the American Cancer Society, the City of Oakley, and our team members who put so much time and effort into fundraising and sharing the love of God! A special thank you to our team captains, Tiffany Tackett our Community Connection Director who has been very active in connecting our church body with the community of Oakley and surrounding cities. Her diligence has put us in the “Heart of the Delta” having contact and communication with the City of Oakley, the “Friends Of Oakley” organization and has helped us to better help others!

And Samantha Semans our Youth Director who has been actively growing our youth in their spiritual walk and in their abilities to minister as an active part of this body.
It’s leaders like these and others who are exciting and contagious in their pursuit of our purpose at New Lifeline Ministries to see GOD GLORIFIED – CHRIST MAGNIFIED – DISCIPLES MULTIPLIED!

Join us in our adventure and mission to win more Soul’s to Christ!
